All schools including Sydney Catholic Schools follow the same Kindergarten to Year 12 curriculum, with our Catholic values underpinning everything that we do.
With a focus on the development of the whole person, courses offered at the school cover the NESA syllabus requirements – developing the core skills of literacy and numeracy – and our Archdiocesan Religious Education curriculum.
Our teachers extend and challenge students to be the best they can be, while recognising that every student is unique and learns differently.
St Martha’s Catholic Primary School Strathfield is engaged in a Sydney Catholic Schools mathematics program to assist us in producing expert teachers of mathematics who can maximise opportunities for students in the classroom.
Mathematical tasks are designed to enable a culture of high expectations for all students. The tasks are open, with low entry points and high ceilings. The differentiated success criteria allow learners to locate different starting points and set goals in relation to the same task. Students are able to enter the task at their own level and progress at different rates, yet are connected by the learning intention.
Our school is committed to extending the range of learning opportunities available for all students.
